NEWS FROM MEMBERS and Forthcoming Exhibitions


Many congratulations to Susan, who has achieved her MA and showed her work at the Degree Show in Barnsley.


Alison will be exhibiting work in the Worthing Art Trail: Colonade Gallery for Worthing Churches Homeless Project.


Christine has been commissioned to paint a selection of watercolours for a business that has just had a complete building refurbishment.

Shirley won the Winsor & Newton/RI Award for an outstanding group of six paintings by a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours this year.      
As a result of that and in conjunction with the SWS Annual Exhibition,  she was interviewed by Duncan Hall for an article in the August issue of Sussex Life magazine (available now).
Also, her 4th DVD will be available from August 2017.

The next issue of The Art of Watercolour magazine, published in early September 2017, includes a feature on women artists today,  which will address issues such as the status of women artists, the difficulty of balancing family and artistic lives, etc. Shirley is included amongst a dozen women artists.
As one of the invited "best watercolour artists from all over the world" she will be exhibiting in Masters of Watercolour 2018, in St Petersburg, Russia between 1st-28th February 2018.  Last years exhibition was the first and attended by over 15,000 visitors.


Sonya has work permanently showing at a new gallery in Eastbourne`s Enterprise Centre called At The Makery.


Sheila has paintings on show at the Alfriston Arts Gallery, High Street,  Alfriston BN26 5SY.
